Opt out of sale and sharing

Opt out of sale and sharing

This stops us sharing your information with analytics and advertising providers. It does not stop the tracking that credits your offers, because a partner has to know which account completed a task in order to pay you for it.

This is the control United States state privacy laws call the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising. It is available to everyone, not only residents of states that require it.

What selling and sharing mean here

These words have a specific legal meaning that is wider than everyday usage. Sharing means disclosing personal information for cross context behavioural advertising, whether or not money changes hands. Selling can cover a disclosure made for any valuable consideration.

On that definition, two things we do count:

  • Offer and survey partners. When you choose to do a task, we pass that partner an identifier for your account, your country and the IP address of the click, and we are paid when you complete it.
  • Analytics. If analytics cookies are on, identifiers about your visit are made available to our analytics provider.
Opting out stops the analytics and advertising sharing completely. It does not stop the tracking that pays you. If you start an offer, that partner still has to be told which account completed it, or you do not get credited. We would rather tell you that plainly than let you opt out and quietly stop earning.

We do not exchange your personal information for money in the everyday sense of selling a list, and we never have. We also do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16, and we do not use the information of anyone under 18 for targeted advertising.

When you opt out, we also ask third parties who received your information in the previous 90 days to delete it.

Cookie choices

Cookies are the other half of this. You can change which categories run at any time, and the Cookie Policy sets out the cookies we use.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or a browser extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid opt out of sale and sharing and act on it automatically. You do not need to do anything else, and we will not interrupt you with a banner to ask again. Where you are signed in, we record the opt out against your account so it holds on your other devices too.

Global Privacy Control is supported by several browsers and extensions. Details are at globalprivacycontrol.org.

Your other rights

Depending on where you live you can also ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. Signed-in users can download their data and close their account from profile settings. Otherwise email contact@earnx.gg with Privacy in the subject line.

We answer within 45 days in the United States and within one month in the UK and EEA, and we will tell you if we need longer. Using any of these rights is free and we will not treat you differently for it.

Authorised agents

You can appoint someone to make a request for you. We will ask them for written proof that you authorised it, and we may ask you to confirm it directly.

If we say no

You can appeal. Email contact@earnx.gg with Appeal in the subject line within 60 days of our decision. A different person from the one who decided first will review it and write back within 45 days with reasons. If we still refuse, we will give you a link to complain to your state Attorney General, or to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or to your national data protection authority in the EEA.
